Ushuaia

One of my favorite regions in Argentina is Tierra del Fuego. While its two main towns, Ushuaia and Rio Grande, are industrial centers (mostly, assembling electrical appliances); and the land use across the countryside has alternated between cattle-raising, lumber extraction (from primary forests), and peat extraction; within the province there are extensive hiking routes used both by local residents and visiting tourists. There are low-impact activities to enjoy up mountains, across lakes, on the Beagle Canal, and along the coast.
